Shenfield Library

Shenfield Library plays a unique role at the heart of our community, providing access to books, digital resources, group meetings and other community services.

The way we use our libraries has been changing rapidly over the last few years, as book borrowing has fallen, membership has declined, and fewer residents use branch libraries. Essex County Council provides library services and is currently reviewing the way they are delivered.

That’s why we are undertaking this library survey, so that we can better understand what you want from your library service in Shenfield.

Essex County Council wishes to continue to support library services in Shenfield, which could be run by a community or partner organisation. To shape the future provision to meet local needs, we are asking you to complete the below questionnaire and to work with us to present a proposal to ECC. We will be looking at making constructive proposals to secure the future of the library for the community.

We also urge you to visit the consultation website at www.essex.gov.uk/library-consultation so your voice can be heard.

If you would like to volunteer in Shenfield Library, or know of a community organisation that would like to be
involved, please let us know.
