The Brook Street entrance to Brentwood is set to bloom next Spring, thanks to the efforts of South Weald councillor, Ann Coe.
Following the successful litter clearance day back in the summer, where Ann was joined by volunteers, Brentwood's MP, Eric Pickles, fellow councillors and Leader of the Council, Louise McKinlay, Ann is now arranging a follow up on Saturday 23rd November at 9.30am to tidy the area and plant some bulbs in time for Spring.
Ann said " The Big Clean Up earlier this year was just the start. This Saturday we'll be planting bulbs to brighten up this entrance to Brentwood so if you have a spare hour, please come and join us."
Earlier this year, Ann launched a campaign to tidy up the entrance to the Borough and improve the environment. Her efforts have seen fly tipping removed, planning enforcement take place on the cottages next to the petrol station and road markings repainted.
Ann added "There's still more to do. I want to see the area do justice to Brentwood with the cottages tidied up and maintained properly by the owners and some planting in place to brighten up the verges."
Volunteers should meet by the Esso Garage at 9.30am. Equipment will be provided.
