Brentwood and Ongar Conservative Association would like to offer congratulations to our MP, Sir Eric Pickles on the news that he is to receive a knighthood.
The accolade was announced, following Eric's departure from the Cabinet, where he held the post of Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government for 5 years under the previous coalition government. Constituency chairman, John Kerslake said "Eric's efforts have made a huge difference to Local Government. He has worked tirelessly over the years to make it more accountable to local people and to empower councils to make better decisions for the benefit of their local areas. This is a great honour and well deserved."
