Jan Pound has been selected by Brentwood and Ongar Conservative Association (BOCA) as its candidate in the forthcoming Shenfield by-election.
A Shenfield resident, living in Kilworth Avenue, Jan is already very popular and well known across the ward, where she is active in a variety of aspects of local community life.
From working to help deliver the Shenfield Christmas Fair, to organising community litter picks and setting up a new "Friends of Courage Playing Field" group, Jan is passionate about life in Shenfield.
She said, " I am thrilled to be the candidate for the by-election. Living in Shenfield, I am well placed to understand the issues and challenges facing us. Improving communication on the Crossrail project, addressing parking problems in residential streets and tackling the ongoing blight of litter are all key items that I will focus on if elected."
BOCA Chairman, John Kerslake said, "Jan is a fine candidate and will make an excellent councillor. She has demonstrated her determination and energy to get things done and is already working on a number of issues with our recently elected councillor, Louise Rowlands. I know she would make a real difference in Shenfield if elected and will use her previous experience to the benefit of residents."
The by-election will take place on Thursday 29th October 2015.
