Dear Residents,
The response to our petition regarding Crossrail's intention to compulsory purchase Friars Avenue car park has been tremendous and we would like to thank everyone who signed and helped gather so many signatures.
To date, we have collected over 2,000 signatures, demonstrating to Crossrail the strength of feeling felt locally by the proposals.
We are pleased to report that following representation from us all, we have received notification from Crossrail that they will no longer be pursuing the CPO route for the car park.
This is a great result and we are now pressuring Crossrail to provide full details of their
construction plans to enable us to convey them to you. We are also looking at other short and long term parking solutions and the Council will be starting public consultation on these forthwith.
We will be in touch again shortly with more information but if there is anything you wish to discuss in the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you all again for your support.
Kind regards,
Rt. Hon Eric Pickles MP Cllr. Louise McKinlay
Leader of Brentwood Council
