LibDem/Labour run Council sent an expression of interest for a New Town

LibDem/Labour run Brentwood Council has confirmed that at the end of 2024 it sent an expression of interest for a New Town without informing the elected council members, the public or holding any kind of public debate or vote before sending the request.

Should this request proceed then it would mean between 10,000-25,000 EXTRA households for Brentwood on top of the almost 15,000 already imposed by the Labour Government's mandatory central housing targets.

Where was the openness and transparency in making this submission ?
