New Flower Troughs in Rayleigh Road

Safety Improvements delivered in Rayleigh Road, Hutton

Safety concerns relating to dangerous  parking outside the shopping parade at the Hutton Chequers in Rayleigh Road are being addressed by Essex County Council.

Brentwood’s Local Highways Panel approved a new scheme to introduce "troughs" that will be filled with plants. The move will prevent vehicles from parking on the build out, which is dangerous and causes obstructions. Visibility for all road users will be much improved.  Brentwood Borough Council will receive some initial funding from Essex County Council for the planting and have agreed to maintain them for the benefit of residents going forward.

County Cllr Louise McKinlay, whose division covers the Hutton area has welcomed the improvement.

"I am pleased to see this safety issue has been addressed. With the new troughs in place, complemented by the new look store, the area is set to become much safer and smarter for all road users and pedestrians."

County Cllr Louise McKinlay
