At last night's Environment and Housing Committee, Conservatives brought forward plans to introduce street inspections across Brentwood in an effort to drive up standards and improve street cleanliness.
Chairman, Chris Hossack said, "The proposal was one of our key election promise and I am pleased we are delivering on it so quickly. Keeping Brentwood clean and green is very important and we hope that the extra investment and resource will make a real difference."
The focus of the new role will be on addressing litter hotspots, tackling flytipping, supporting and reviewing current street cleaning plans and working with Essex County Council to address highways issues.
Recruitment is now underway for the position and it is hoped it will be up and running this summer.
