The biggest success of the night came in Brentwood West where our Conservative candidate, and now Councillor Will Russell, defeating the sitting Liberal Democrat Councillor and key campaigner Karen Chilvers. In what is the most marginal seat in the entire Borough, Cllr Will Russell who fought a positive campaign, connecting with voters and listening to their concerns, won the seat by 10 votes.
Giving his initial reaction to his election triumph Will said, “I am so proud to have been elected as a local Councillor for the residents of Brentwood West. As someone who lives and works in the ward I am honoured to have been elected to represent them on Brentwood Borough Council. This was a long campaign, I enjoyed every moment meeting the residents of Brentwood West and listening to their concerns and tackling their local issues. The real work starts now though, we need to get action for residents on the concerns they raised with us.
Association Chairman, Frank Kenny added, “We are delighted to have had such a successful election night on Thursday, holding all of our current seats and removing an established Liberal Democrat in Brentwood has increased our majority, it also gives a strong mandate to our Councillors to begin delivering on their promises for the residents of our Borough. I would like to thank all of our supporters and activists who made this election night so successful”
